Job Description
A Senior SAP MM Consultant leads and manages the design, configuration, and deployment of SAP MM solutions to optimize procurement, inventory, and material management processes. The role spans end-to-end project life cycles, from business requirements gathering and process design to solution configuration and post-go-live support. This consultant ensures seamless integration with other SAP modules and collaborates cross-functionally to drive process improvements, compliance, and business results.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, test, and deploy SAP MM functionalities for procurement, inventory management, purchasing, and vendor management.
- Lead requirements gathering workshops, document business needs, and translate them into robust SAP MM solutions.
- Drive integration with related SAP modules (SD, FI, WM, PP, QM) to enable end-to-end supply chain operations.
- Provide user training, process documentation, and post-implementation support to sustain adoption and optimal use of SAP MM.
- Identify, analyze, and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and best practices for continuous optimization.
Must Have
- Advanced hands-on experience with SAP MM configuration, including procurement, inventory management, release strategies, and invoice verification.
- Proven record of leading or supporting at least one full-cycle SAP MM implementation, from blueprint to go-live and support.
- Strong understanding of integration points between MM and other SAP modules such as SD, FI, WM, PP, and QM.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting, process mapping, and issue resolution within MM processes.
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate business requirements, deliver effective training, and collaborate with stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, Fiori apps, or cloud-based material management solutions.
- Familiarity with ABAP debugging or collaboration with technical teams for enhancements and custom reports.
- Exposure to advanced MM processes, such as batch management, subcontracting, stock transport orders, and MRP.
- SAP MM certification and/or industry-specific experience in manufacturing, retail, or life sciences.
- Leadership, mentoring, or prior consulting experience on global/multi-site SAP implementations.
